install script does not recognize command line options

Setting paths via command line options in the install does not work: ./install -i /tmp/iraf/bin gives

$ ./install -i /tmp/iraf/bin  
[...]  
========================================================================  
=====================  Query for System Settings  ======================  
========================================================================  
  
  
New iraf root directory (/home/olebole/iraf/iraf-v216):   
Default root image storage directory (/home/olebole/.iraf/imdir/):   

Also, an option is missing that lets the install script run non-interactively, f.e. for automated builds.
