installation problem V2.16 on Snow Leopard

Philip Massey wrote on Aug 08, 2012

Hi, Mike et al---

I'm attempting to install V2.16 on my Mac Pro Intel machine. It is running OS X 10.6.8 (latest Snow Leopard) and is in 32-bit mode (uname -m returns i386). A printenv IRAFARCH indicates macintel.

The version I'm trying to install is from iraf.noao.edu!/iraf/v216/PCIX/iraf.macx.uni.tar
where I assume the "uni" is for "universial"....

When I run the install script, I get:

hecking definition of iraf root directory ... [ OK ]
Checking iraf root and imdir directory ... [ OK ]
Checking iraf root and cache directory ... [ OK ]
Checking iraf directory write permissions ... [ OK ]
Checking Core system binary directory ... [ FAIL ]

*** The core system binary directory, /iraf/iraf/bin.macintel, does
*** not appear to contain the proper binaries.

Checking NOAO package binary directory ... [ FAIL ]

*** The NOAO package binary directory, /iraf/iraf/noao/bin.macintel, does
*** not appear to contain the proper files.

Checking that local bin directory exists ... [ OK ]

thanks!

I've retrieved the iraf.macosx.tar.gz distribution, and forced IRAFARCH to macosx. It all works now! Sorry about that.
