64-bit IRAF

I know that this is in the queue, but I'm wondering about the time scale. We're starting to generate images over 2.3Gbytes with our plate scanner, and it would be nice to be able to deal with them in IRAF.

Work has begun but at a (very) low priority. The plan is to have something functional in time for ADASS, at least a decent test-release if not a whole new general IRAF release. We'll post an announcement here when something is available for testing.
