xccdred installation problem on macintel

Hi,
I have been trying unsuccessfully to build xccdred on an Intel Mac with MacOS 10.4 using Iraf 2.13-beta2 installed via scisoft.
http://iraf.noao.edu/scripts/extern/xccdred.pl doesn't provide a binary for macintel. Does someone have one, or could make one?
Alternatively, I could do with installation help: I tried to build the binaries myself following the README, as user 'iraf'. It looks successful:

ranlib libpkg.a

but in fact the xccdredbin variable is undefined, and when I try to call any xccdred task, it can't find xccdred.e
Alternatively, if I follow the "multi-architecture" directions, I get the following errors:
--> mkpkg -p xccdred macintel
envinit: cannot open `/scisoft/all/packages/iraf/extern/xccdred/xccdredlib/zzsetenv.def'
Warning, mkpkg line 0: cannot open `xccdred$lib/mkpkg.inc'
Warning, mkpkg line 150: could not find mkpkg module or label `macintel'
Warning, mkpkg line 150: no entry in mkpkg file for `macintel'
So maybe xccdred isn't even set up to *compile* for IRAFARCH=macintel? If so, how do I set it up correctly?

The package builds just fine on Mac Intel, although I'm not sure it provides any new functionality. In any case, I've put the binaries on the iraf.noao.edu ftp area as well as the downloads page on this site.
As for the problems you're having: All external packages must be compiled with the "-p <pkgname>" flag, this is what loads the proper environment to define things like 'xccdredbin'. Since this package pre-dates the macintel port the mkpkg doesn't have an architecture defined (the source distribution was updated to include one now) but you can simply create a 'bin.macintel' directory and change the 'bin' link to point to it before building (In this one case ONLY! In general you should use the 'mkpkg' command).
