X11IRAF on Fedora Core 6
jcl wrote on Feb 22, 2007
I just installed IRAF on Fedora Core 6 and that seems to work, but I get the following error when trying to run xgterm...
./xgterm: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
FC6 has libncurses.so.5, so should I install the older libncurses.so.4, or is there a fix somewhere in xgterm that I can make?
Thanks,
Jessica

The version of XGterm at ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/xgterm.fedora (or http://iraf.net/ftp/pub/xgterm.fedora) will run on FC6 without problems. The current X11IRAF source release needs to be modified to compile on FC6.
