Installing IRAF on FreeBSD 6.*
Guest wrote on Jun 01, 2006
Hi,
It installs fine but there is a problem in the "Creating Graphics
Device Files" stage because it is no more possible to create files in
the /dev/ directory on current versions of FreeBSD. I had to edit the
script to skip this step. Could the files be created in /iraf/dev
instead?
There is also a typo in the script ('endiif' instead of 'endif' at
some place)
Best regards,
Jean-Marc

Jean-Marc,
Thanks for the message, I'll modify the install script for the next release so the /dev pipes are skipped on FreeBSD. The 'endiif' typo was discovered a while ago and is already fixed.
Cheers,
-Mike
