Hi guys,
will IRAF work on the new Intel Macs? I am interested in both present and future compatibility: emulation via Rosetta for now and a native port for the future...

The short answer seems to be: we don't know yet if current PowerPC iraf will run properly within Rosetta, because no one's been able to try it yet, though byte-order issues will probably cause problems; and a native port is desirable but non-trivial, and depends on the iraf folks getting access to an Intel Mac (for which you can make donations -- see the main Support page).
