install question AMD-64

Guest wrote on Oct 14, 2005

To whom it may concern,

I would like to install iraf on my newly built amd-64 running SUSE 9.3. I
would like to know if you have had any difficulties running/installing
iraf on the amd-64 architecture systems, (library linking issues...?) ?
Thanks, I do/did not know if there would be any issues, just thought I
would check before starting. Thank you, Justin Schaefer

Hello;

I believe IRAF would run as is in the AMD64 platform
but you will not be able to develoop/link/relink any
application involving IRAF libraries. We would need to
do a true port to 64bit platform but there is not much
interest in the community yet.
