Imexamine:

The output of imexamine's 'a' (performed over a star) includes the "mean background" in the column named 'SKY'.
What is the difference with the 'm' column 'STDDEV' performed on a sky region?
Shouldn't these two parameters be equivalent?

I messed up the title of the post, but there's apparently no way to edit it or to remove the post...

The 'm' key does straight image statistics on a rectangular region, however the 'a' key fits a surface when computing the sky background within the object aperture. The two results should be close but not necessarily equal.
