IRAF 2.16 & Cygwin

From the release notes....

" Cygwin, FreeBSD and Solaris x86 updates to v2.16 are pending and
subject to the interest in these platforms in the community. "

Is there a Cygwin update? If not here's registering interest. Or is there a better way to get IRAF to work with Windows7? I have an older version that works just fine under WinXPand Cygwin - but that computer is dying so I either need to fix it or try to get IRAF to work on my new computer.

I used to use Iraf with Cygwin. A few years ago I switched to using a Linux virtual machine instead, as a way to get Iraf on a Windows computer, and I have never looked back. In my opinion, it is superior in every way. Drop me an email if you would like more details.
