openning a fits file.

I created a fits file in c using the latest cfitsio library. I can open the file from the command line
rotate result01 tmp.fits rotation = 18.3

but not from a script

ERROR: Cannot open image (result01.fits)
"nyblock=nyblock, verbose=verbose)"
line 48: imgeom$imlintran.cl
called as: `rotate (input=result01.fits, output=result01.fits[0,overwrite], rotation=-18.3, verbose=no)'
"rotate (input = image, output = image//"[0,overwrite]", rotation = - ..."

Ideas?

Without seeing the image, all I can say is that it works for me either from the commandline or in script mode.

The difference in your posting is that the cmdline version used 'tmp.fits' as output, but in the script your overwrite the input image. Is the FITS file and MEF? If so, does the primary extension already have an image or is it just a PHU with image extensions? If you IMCOPY the file to a new name and allow the IRAF FITS kernel to write it out does it make a difference (i.e. maybe a missing EXTEND keyword in your CFITSIO-generated file is the issue?) ?
