Any way to copy and paste text to the command line? I seem to recall being able to do this back whe I worked on a Sun workstatiion, but of course it isn't ctrl-c and ctrl-v!
Thanks!

What system?
On Mac systems with Mac apps like Terminal you use Cmd-c and Cmd-v, however cut-n-paste between a Terminal.app and and xterm doesn't work (Google for FAQs), or at least not reliably. On some linux systems it's Ctrl-Shift-c and Ctrl-Shift-v, or menu options only. As always, a lot of this is configurable in various ways (e.g. programming function keys, remapping the Caps-Lock/Control keys, etc).

Mike:
I'm using cygwin on a windoze machine. I found what I needed - just highlight with the left mouse button and paste to the command line with the middle button. What could be easier? I'm slowly re-learning the very small amount of unix that I ever knew (and quickly fogot once I stopped using it seven years ago...)
Thanks!
