mxtools package

camargo wrote on Sep 02, 2009

Greetings,

I have a iraf-pc installation working fine. In it, I installed mxtools
package and installation ran smoothly. Equally installed were stsdas and
tables. However, when I try the command "matphot" in mxtools I get

ERROR: Iraf Main: Unknown task name (matphot)

Other tasks in mxtools seem to work OK. Any idea to solve this?

Thanks,
-Julio.

Dear Julio,

MATPHOT now runs outside of IRAF as part of the MX package.

Go to the website

http://www.noao.edu/noao/staff/mighell/matphot/

and download the MX tarball and follow the instructions for building
the MX package. The webpage has a few example demos for MATPHOT
that you could try out.

Please contact me at mighell@noao.edu if you would like to get
a more recent version of the package where I have been modeling
the pixel-phase flux loss of Channel 1 of Spitzer's IRAC instrument.

Dear Ken,

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded MATPHOT from the suggested
website and installation seems to have been successful (bin/mx_mpd exists
and the demos ran as described).

Regards,
-Julio.
