xgterm: no available ptys

You need to upgrade your XGterm. Using the latest X11IRAF from the main story on the homepage should work, if you just want a binary then try ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/xgterm.fedora.

thanks for the answer Mike, but i think that i am using the latest version of X11IRAF, because for my distrubution(linux) the latest is x11iraf-v1.3.1-bin.linux.tar.gz, isnt it? Please correct me if I am wrong

No, the latest is the 2.0 release on the homepage. There isn't a specific binary called 'linux', but the 'redhat' binaries will work.

I did with the redhat binaries 2.0 and it isn't working, when i was installing the X11iraf appeared:

Directory containing the X11IRAF distribution files (./):
*** This directory doesn't appear to contains all the
*** X11IRAF distribution files for this platform.

:(

I updated the links with a 'linux' distribution where the install script will properly find the binaries. You can also just move the 'bin.redhat' and 'lib.redhat' directories you already have to 'bin.linux' and 'lib.linux' and rerun the install script locally.
