You want to co-add 2 images taken with a telescope offset in between? Have a look at the tasks described by "help immatch". In particular, if integer pixel offsets are acceptable, you can just use imcombine. There is also a more sophisticated wrapper script in the Gemini package called imcoadd (http://www.gemini.edu/sciops/data-and-results?q=node/10882 and http://www.gemini.edu/sciops/data/IRAFdoc/imcoadd.html).
