edges in stars after imcombine

Hi!
I'm facing a problem using the imcombine task. After combing 10 single frames the combined image shows edges and corners in most of the stars, looking as if the stars where cut in the middle (or asymmetrically) and the other half was missing. The single frames before the imcombine process don't show any of these errors. I tried several parameter combinations, but it still looks the same and it occurs in different (all) data sets in different filters.
When I combine only two of the frames, there already are some edges, but not as much as when combinig all 10. Any ideas?

ok, now it get's even more confusing.. after comparing the login.cl with a colleague who was able to combine my image correctly at his pc, I changed the stdimage value from imt1024 to 2048 (the image ist about 1024x1024). Now the combined image looks a little better (some of the edges still remain), but when I zoom in, it looks like there are half (!!) pixels, where the edges are. I have no idea..

Well, I changed stdimage to imt4096, now the image looks fine. But why and how exaclty does this parameter effect the display and how do I know which setting is "correct" respectively?
