Weird problem after an upgrade

Hi,
I did an upgrade from kubuntu feisty to gutsy and suddenly my
iraf stopped working (in fact I'm not sure the upgrade is guilty since
there was some weeks I didn't use iraf).
Anyway. Before bothering you I tried to uninstal and install iraf again. It didn't work. I followed the instructions on http://geco.phys.columbia.edu/~rubab/iraf/iraf_step_by_step_installation
I can load iraf and the packages.
I can lpar and epar the tasks:
ecl> images
imcoords. imfilter. imfit. imgeom. immatch. imutil. tv.
images> imutil
chpixtype imcopy imfunction imjoin imstack listpixels
hedit imdelete imgets imrename imstatistics minmax
hselect imdivide imheader imreplace imsum sections
imarith imexpr imhistogram imslice imtile
imutil> lpar imstatistics
images = "B.fits" List of input images
(fields = "image,npix,mean,stddev,min,max") Fields to be printed
(lower = INDEF) Lower limit for pixel values
(upper = INDEF) Upper limit for pixel values
(nclip = 0) Number of clipping iterations
(lsigma = 3.) Lower side clipping factor in sigma
(usigma = 3.) Upper side clipping factor in sigma
(binwidth = 0.1) Bin width of histogram in sigma
(format = yes) Format output and print column labels ?
(cache = no) Cache image in memory ?
(mode = "ql")
but whenever I try to do anything, iraf seems to stop. For instance:
ecl> imstatistics B.fits
# IMAGE NPIX MEAN STDDEV MIN MAX
I can get no answer from iraf!
It just keep "thinking" forever ...
I think my environment variables are ok.
I suspect the ownership of the iraf tree. However, I ran /iraf/iraf/unix/hlib/install -n and everything was ok!
What's the difference between "lpar imstatistics" and "imstatistics B.fits"? I mean, both lpar and imstatistics are commands/tasks, why do one works and the other doesn't?

I've found the problem.
Just after the upgrade I'd changed the file /etc/network/interfaces.
Using the original one, everything works great!
