Tmatch gives random matches… sometimes
biledemon wrote on Mar 08, 2007
Hey everyone, again I must ask without contributing and for that I apologise...
I'm having a problem using tmatch with sphere+, in that it works perfectly most of the time but every 10-20 matches is completely wrong in the XCENTER value. I.e it matches things that are very close most of the time, but gets it completely wrong every now and again (by about 1000 pixels say!).
Does anyone have a clue what's going on or do ye need more information?

Being able to see your data files and parameters (e.g. "cl> dpar tmatch") would help a lot. If I had to guess, I'd say your data were crossing 0hr RA or the equator. The ST help desk (help@stsci.edu) might have more insight since this is their task.
