Iraf for Debian/Ubuntu
moppi wrote on Feb 13, 2007
Hi,
Earlier debian package of Iraf was situated in NOAO's ftp server. However now it seems that the whole debian directory is disappeared.
Does anyone know where I could download this package? (apt-source or just the file). It makes installing Iraf/Pyraf-system quite a lot easier.

It appears to still be available from the Japanese mirror site at ftp://iraf.nao.ac.jp/IRAF/contrib I don't believe this package is being maintained any longer and is certainly a V2.12 version of some kind.

This page describes how to setup IRAF on a Ubuntu/Debian machine. Apart from the exact commands, there are some instructions in square brackets that need to be followed. Installation of X11IRAF, DS9, Tables, and STSDAS are included.
