combining: floating point invalid operation !?!

Hi, I'm running PC-IRAF Revision 2.12.2 on a linux (ubuntu) system. I'm using an Acer AMD Sempron laptop.

My problem is combining images. Everytime I try to use flatcombine or imcombine f.ex. I get the following error:
ERROR on line 47 : floating point invalid operation
or simply ERROR: floating point invalid operation

unlearning the tasks does nothing.

Any ideas?
