gain of Flat different from gain of Zero - is it bad?

Danilenko Andrey wrote on Jul 06, 2006

Hello everybody,

My flat images has gain value different from gain of zero images. Is it bad? Does IRAF ccd reduction tasks account this difference automatically if I put "gain= gain" in epar?

thanks for your attention,

Andrey Danilenko.

Right, a "gain' image header keyword will be used when available. In the FLATCOMBINE task for instance the 'gain' parameter may be either a numeric value or the header keyword containing the value.

Cheers,
-Mike
