Reidentify with two reference images

Hi all,

Is there a way to use two reference images in reidentify?

I currently have two comparison lamps, Neon and Krypton. Neon calibrates the data well in the red but does poorly in the blue, while Krypton is the opposite. Due to differences in exposure times, having Neon and Krypton in the same exposure doesn't work - I can't expose the Neon lamp long enough to see the Krypton lines without saturating.

I tried feeding reidentify a list of reference images, but it didn?t know how to handle it. Is there a different way to provide multiple reference images, or to combine the two reference files into one?

Hi,

I'll start by giving you an idea off the top of my head. If it doesn't work I will have to experiiment and refresh my memory. I don't recall that there is an ability to use multiple references, i.e. position vs wavelength fit functions, in some intelligent way.

Do two separate solutions which will leave "database" text files. Edit one and join the line lists of the two together. Don't work about the fitting stuff as the next step is to IDENTIFY again. The spectrum plot should show all the marked lines even if there is nothing there. The point here is to then do an 'f' fit to the combined set of lines. The resulting fit should be the best solution to use downstream.
