Ellipse/Bmodel Surface Photometry

Hey,
I'm attempting to learn how to do a bit of surface photometry using ellipse. After running ellipse, I run bmodel on the output table created. Based on the various papers etc that I'm looking at, I expect to get some form of white disk with a gradient over the area in which ellipse was used. However, I'm not seeing the gradient. I'm just getting a flat white disk, which makes the rest of the processing rather useless.
I've tried using different steps and clip values in ellipse to no avail. What step am I missing?
Any help would be great! Thanks

I don't believe any of the "usual suspects" here are too familiar with the ELLIPSE task, if you don't get a reply from anyone I'd suggest you try the help desk at STScI (help@stsci.edu) since this is their task.
