extract data from iraf graphic image

Hi all,
I am a new member in this forum.
I am studying the effect of interactions on galaxies.
I have fits images and want to get data about contours, line profile,and surface photometry from them.
I want to extract data from these images to use it in my studies.
By using IRAf, I get the images of the contours on the graphic windows of irafterm but i don't know how to extract data from this image to be used after that.

Trying to do surface photometry from data derived from a contour plot rather than the original FITS file probably isn't the best thing. The ISOPHOTE package in STSDAS is meant to work on the FITS file itself and is probably what you're after. You'll need to install STSDAS and read the package documentation, but in short there really isn't a way to create data from an IRAF graphic like a contour plot.

The ISOPHOTE package is part of STSDAS which must be installed separately. See http://iraf.net/article.php/20090512124558513 for details of the latest release.

Sorry,
I wrote ISOPHOT by mistake instead of SURFPHOT which is a part of NOAO package.
SURFPHOT-----> is not yet available.

Anyway to use this package?

Nope. SURPHOT was planned but never written. ISOPHOTE serves kinda the same purpose though so try that.
