question about IRAF headers

Hi
Â
I have written a script to analyse spectra which uses CRVAL1, CRPIX1, and CD1_1. The spectra reside in a multispec file and these parameters are not currently set in the header. When I add them to the header using hedit, I can no longer splot the spectrum.Â
Â
It appears that the information IRAF uses to convert pixels to wavelength already reside in quotes on header lines that begin WAT2_001, etc. Is this overriding the information in CRVAL1, CRPIX1, and CD1_1? If so, is there a way to suppress the conflicting information? I attach the header from the multispec file in question.
Â
Thanks!
