Hello,

I'm new to using iraf, and I keep getting an error saying that the
image file can't be opened when I try to run phot. I'm definitely in
the right folder and have a ds9 window open, and I've been able to
run imexamine. Help?

Maybe you have resolved this problem already. If not I suspect it is a simple misunderstanding. To help you send a listing of the parameters

lpar phot

Also send a listing of the image header

imhead image l+

This second test will show if maybe you have a problem with identifying the image or that the image is not acceptable in some way.
