About 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources

It's me again. The data in .bin, .hb and .hb2 format, which I mentioned before, is belonged to 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources. It can be got at badc.lamost.org.
Is it a database? How can I use this catalog?
Moreover, Where can I get the data in fit of 2MASS. And if I have the fit file, can I acquire the data of each star's position and brightness by using IRAF, and make the data a table?

The .bin file is a proprietary format for a catalog (i.e. table). The position and magnitude in a variety of filters comprise some of the columns of the table so all you need to do is be able to read the file. Each file represents a strip of constant (I think) declination.
If what you want is simply the information for a particular position (and perhaps some small area around it) you may be better off using one of the 2MASS services like GATOR (http://irsa.ipac.caltech.edu/applications/Gator/) which can return the data as an ascii table. I think this tool will also allow you to upload a list of coords as well. Getting a FITS file of this same data will also be a table, there are some tools in the TABLES package that can be used to read that. Hope this helps.
