Overscan calculation along lines.

figueira wrote on Jan 22, 2007

Hello!

I would like to calculate the overscan along not lines but columns. Can I transpose the image, use ccdproc, and then turn it in the right position? Note that I want an average value for a few columns and not for the whole CCD. By the way, there is not any way of selecting two overscan areas other than using icfit interactive mode?

Thanks,

Pedro

Pedro,

See the CCDPROC help page descriptions of the 'readaxis' and 'biassec' parameters. You can do the overscan correction along columns, but I don't think there is a way to use more than one bias section at a time.

Cheers,
-Mike
