igi question

turnmeintosnow wrote on Jul 07, 2006

I know this is probably a silly question but I'm kind of new to iraf and igi and I'm trying to late out pairs of pictures (one from ACS and one from Subaru) next to each other and have something like a 6x6 setup of pairs of pics (so 36 total on the page), but I'm thinking I can't do this nicely with igi. There's the windows comand but I can only set up to 15 boxes like this correct? Is there a nice way to do something like this with igi or would I have to set the exact positions and sizes and what not for each box?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Not sure about IGI, but have a look at the last few examples in the EXPORT help page for a way to create an output image that is a grid of input images. To avoid creating something really huge you might want to subsample the input images, e.g. "acs
  • " will sample by 4.

    Cheers,
