ds9 dropping rows from iraf

Guest wrote on Jun 02, 2006

The y-pixel coords are wrong in my images displayed in ds9 from iraf. This especially affects usage of tvmark and imexam. One row in every eleven is actually missing from the displayed image, which is why the coords turn out wrong. The problem does not occur when images are opened directly in ds9.

This problem started about the time I was trying to install the OCIW COSMOS2 package, when I was monkeying with library settings including X11R6 libraries. I suspect something's gone wrong with X11, although my sysadmin and I have tried reinstalling it, and also reinstalling ds9, iraf, x11iraf; updating the OS (to SuSE 9.3); etc. Sysadmin's only suggestion left is a full system wipe.

Anybody seen this problem before?

Thanks,
Aaron

Problem solved by "mkiraf". Somehow we hadn't fully re-installed before.
Still don't know what caused the problem.
