Frank -

I heard from Joe Mohr that you have a pipeline for reducing MOSAIC data.   I've
just begun an NOAO survey (at the 4m right now in fact) using MOSAIC.
Is your pipeline available to the community?

thanks,
Adam Stanford

Hi Adam,

Yes we have been developing a pipeline for some time now.   However, this is not something we plan to export.  The pipeline is a combination of infrastructure that lets us parallelize and distribute data across a network of machines and the science modules which are largely based on mscred.  At some point in the next six months we could make the pipeline reduced data from your observations available to you.  The goal we have is to routinely process all MOSAIC data from the 4 meters and store it in an archive where it is immediately available to PIs and available to the community after the proprietary period.  There is a lot of "end-to-end" plumbing that has to be done to make this happen but the timeline is by July 1, 2006.  The pipeline may start in ernest before that and I would be glad to make results available to you with the price that you could feed back to us if this is useful.  However, there are no promises when this might happen.

For your work right now you will have to rely on MSCRED and writing your own pipeline for your survey.

Let me know if you want further clarification or information.

Cheers,
Frank
