Subject: Iraf / Patch2a

Quebec, 19.Sept.2005

Hello,

I recently upgraded our Iraf on our Sun/Solaris system with the
Patch2a.

One of my colleagues tried to read some of his spectra and he
gets an error while using "splot":

as> splot wr93cont.fits
ERROR: MWCS: no current default WCS (mw_gwattrs)
as>

He says that he also gets "segmentation fault" error messages
on some other spectra.

We tried to "unlearn" splot. We did not do a new "mkiraf"
unless you say it may be important. My colleague does not
want to loose all his setup param unless he has no other
choices.

Do you have a solution for this problem?

Best regards,

-Sylvie.

Hello Sylvie,

I am not sure what is wrong though it should be a simple thing to deal with and should not require a new "mkiraf".  To help your colleague I would need an image header listing of a problem spectrum (i.e. imhead <spectrum> l+).  Is the segmentation fault also with SPLOT?
Please send the header for a spectrum that demonstrates that problem.

Yours,
Frank Valdes

P.S. I apologize for the late reply.
