CL within Emacs with comint?

Kjetil Kjernsmo wrote on Jun 01, 1999

Dear All,

There seems to have been few posts here, so I take my chances without
lurking:

Have anybody tried to run cl within Emacs? The comint-mode is very
convenient for running all kinds of applications, some may be familiar
with e.g. the idl-shell for IDL which uses comint. I have found that one
can run cl within emacs by M-x comint-run, and type cl, but I figure one
would have to do some configuring to get things right. Now, there are
^Ms at the end of lines, and I haven't seen how interaction with image
display programs or plotting works.

If anybody has worked on this to any extent, I would love to hear about
it, whether the conclusion was that it doesn't work well or somebody has
something working.

Best,

Kjetil
