Registering images with IMALIGN without losing pixels
Christophe Jean wrote on Dec 07, 2001
Dear all, I would like to align a list of images to a reference image and obtain images of a common size which would be big enough to include all the pixels. (I am not sure I am very clear.) Because IMSHIFT preserves the size of the input images, the output images are truncated in the directions of the shifts. Is there a way to tell IMSHIFT not to preserve the size of the input images and to enlarge the output images as necessary? It is certainly easy but I didn't find the answer in the newsgroup nor in the FAQ. Many thanks in advance. Best regards, Christophe

Dear Christophe,
You can use the tasks "rheader" and then "reflresamp" available
within STSDAS for your purpose. This will work even if the pixel sizes
and orientations are different provided the world coordinates have been
updated in the image headers.
