Problem with big FITS images

Christophe Jean wrote on Mar 22, 2002

Dear all,

I have the following problem:

xd> display r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits 1
z1=1397.539 z2=1684.681		---> OK
xd> imcopy r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits image_1.fits
r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits -> image_1.fits
xd> display image_1.fits 1
z1=1389.748 z2=1677.621
ERROR: Pixel storage file is truncated (image_1.fits)

and it doesn't look good.
The file "r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits" is a 2048x2048 pixels
image.

On the other hand, the following is OK:

xd> rfits r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits "" image_1.imh
File:  r.FORS2.2001-07-17T03:42:25.988_0000.fits   -> image_1.imh
Q2139-4433            size=2048x2048
    bitpix=-32  scaling=none  pixtype=real
    Warning: FITS extensions may be present
xd> display image_1.imh 1
z1=1397.539 z2=1684.681

What am I doing wrong?
I am working on a SUN station with SunOS 5.8 and:
    NOAO Sun/IRAF Revision 2.11.3 Sat Sep  9 23:18:55 MST 2000
    This is the EXPORT version of Sun/IRAF V2.11 for SunOS 4 and Solaris 2.7

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Christophe
