Wavelength calibration

Jose Acosta Pulido wrote on Jan 17, 2002

Hello all,
I have an apparent simple problem but I don't find
the way to solve within IRAF.
I have 2-D spectra from a not very massively used
instrument. The wavelength calibration has been
provided by the instrument team in the form of
a table containing two columns with pixels and
the corresponding lambda.
The transformation function is not linear but
looks like a parabola. My question is: is there
any simple way to perform the wavelength
calibration and transformation of the spectra
based on such table??.
To my knowledge the only way to do lambda calibration
within IRAf is using identify/reidentify and later
fitcoords+transform or dispcor.

Many thanks in advance, Jose Acosta
