Satlas 1.2 released

The new version of satlas has just been released! Satlas is an electronic atlas of the solar spectrum and targeted primarily for astronomers who do a lot of spectral analysis work. It is based on Gtk+ and MySQL. MySQL is used to store, manage and provide a quick access to the data, while Gtk+ provides GUI. Some functionality of satlas can be also accessed through the command line. *Features added in v1.2 - Data tables are COMPLETELY restructured. Old data tables are incompatible with the new version. - Equivalent widths problems resolved. - Kurutz line list added and made a primary one. - References to log gf values added. - Zoom mode - Editing of the output - Foundation for the MOOG support - Many bug and portability fixes. *Features* added in v1.0 - Search for lines through the entire spectrum - Measurements of the equivalent widths (this is still faulty) *Features* of satlas v0.95 - Display and browse solar spectrum in a specified wavelength range. - Display data on the individual lines in the spectrum. - Using more detailed atomic information (not for all lines), such as oscillator strengths, excitation and ionization potentials, etc., generate inputs for WIDTH9, a numerical code written to calculate abundances of chemical elements. More detailed information and the source code along with the data can be access from: http://www.physics.unc.edu/~serge/satlas/ Screenshots are also provided! :-))) Satlas is distributed under GNU Public License. Any questions, comments, blames and suggestions are welcomed. Send them to serge@astro.unc.edu.
